During their Junior High years, many orchestra students start to find that their instrument is holding them back from the sound and technique of which they are now capable. If your student is serious about his or her commitment to orchestra, and wishes to advance to the next level, your family may want to discuss the possibility of a step-up instrument. These instruments are of a higher quality than student-level instruments, and can offer the student a much better overall sound. If you are currently renting, you can apply all that you have paid on the student instrument toward the step-up instrument. Other companies offer quality step-up instruments as well.
