The Sixth Grade Orchestra participates in three concerts:

Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 6:30 pm, Fairhaven Ministries
This concert is our fall kickoff concert. You will be amazed at how quickly the students have gotten back into the groove and how much they have learned in such a short time.  Students should arrive at Fairhaven Ministries by 6:00 pm. Students should wear nice clothes and should bring their instrument, music book, and all music papers with them. The concert will last approximately 1 hour. 


Thursday, February 2nd, 2012, 7:30 pm, High School Auditorium
This concert is a showcase of just our 6th grade students.  Every student will have the option to perform a solo or small group ensemble of a piece of their choosing in addition to the full orchestra pieces.  Students should report to the High School Orchestra room next to the High School pool at 7:00 pm.  Students should wear nice clothes and should bring their instrument and music.  This concert will last approximately 45 minutes.



Thursday, May 24th, 2012, 7:30 pm, Fair Haven Ministries
This concert will feature the 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Orchestras in addition to the High School Concert Orchestra. Students should arrive at Fair Haven by 7:00 pm, and should leave their cases in the designated hallway before reporting directly to the stage to get tuned. Students should wear nice clothes and should bring their instrument, music book, and all music papers with them. This concert will conclude at approximately 8:30 pm.

What to wear:
Orchestra students in the 6th Grade are asked to wear nice clothes when performing at concerts. If possible, it is best to avoid jeans, sneakers, and T-shirts or sweatshirts with logos on them. Female cello players should also avoid shorter or form-fitting skirts, as they don't allow for correct cello posture.
