Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible over the next two weeks! (Especially since I missed
many of you when I had the stomach flu during fall conferences!) As usual, I will be holding my conferences in the
Choir Room (Room 41), which is located just past the cafeteria on the south end of the building.
As you sign up for your conference times on Pick-A-Time, please try to avoid the later times on Feb. 13, as
we hope you will be attending our Pre-Festival Concert at that time!
Junior High Orchestras PRE-FESTIVAL CONCERT
Mon, Feb. 13, 2012, 6:30pm @ FairHaven Ministries
- Students should report in uniform to the Family Life Center (gym) by 6pm.
- The 7th Grade Orchestra will perform first, followed by the 8th Grade Orchestra.
- Both groups will perform their three Festival pieces, as well as demonstrate Sight-Reading.
- (The 8th Grade basketball girls will need to make plans to leave their game as SOON as it's
finished in Hudsonville! You should be able to get over to FH by 6:30...)
- JH students can earn extra credit by staying to hear the High School Orchestras perform at 8:00pm!
7th Grade Orchestra FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
Wed, Feb. 22, 2012 (7:00-10:30am)
Arrive at school ALREADY IN UNIFORM!!!
7:00am* - Board buses in front of JJHS
7:45 - Arrive at Caledonia HS
8:00 - Warm Up
8:25 - Perform!
8:50 - Sight-Reading
9:15 - Done, Wait for ratings
9:25 - Watch another group perform
9:40 - Board buses
10:20 - Arrive back at JJHS
(If students have brought a change of clothes,
they may change out of their uniform before
returning to 3rd hour.)
* If you are unable to get your student to the JH by 7am,
please contact another orchestra family to share a ride.
If that doesn't work, please contact Mrs. Johnson ASAP!

Arrive at school at your normal time, ALREADY IN UNIFORM!!!
8:30am - Leave 1st hour and board buses
9:15 - Arrive at Caledonia HS
9:25 - Watch another group perform
9:45 - Warm Up
10:15 - Perform!
10:40 - Sight-Reading
11:05 - Done, Wait for ratings
11:25 - Board buses
12:00 - Arrive back at JJHS
(If students have brought a change of clothes,
they may change out of their uniform before
going to 2nd lunch at 12:15.)
Families and friends are encouraged to attend both the Pre-Festival and Festival performances.
Also, I am looking for a few parents in each grade to chaperone our Festival trip. Please let me know
if you are interested and available!
