Fifth Grade Orchestra Concert Info
The Fifth Grade Orchestra participates in two concerts:
Thursday, December 1, 2011, 7:30 pm, Jenison Junior High Gymnasium
This concert is an informal demonstration of all the skills the students have learned in their first three months of orchestra. Students should arrive at the Junior High Orchestra room by 7:00 pm. Students should wear nice clothes and should bring their instrument, music book, and all music papers with them. The concert will include a brief 'guest appearance' by our High School Concert Orchestra. The concert will last approximately 45 minutes.
Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 7:00 pm, Fair Haven Ministries
This concert will feature the 5th Grade Orchestra, the High School Sinfonia, and the High School Symphony Orchestra. Students should arrive at Fair Haven by 6:30 pm, and should leave their cases in the designated hallway before reporting directly to the stage to get tuned. Students should wear nice clothes and should bring their instrument, music book, and all music papers with them. This concert will conclude at approximately 8:30 pm.
What to wear:
Orchestra students in the 5th (and 6th) Grade are asked to wear nice clothes when performing at concerts. If possible, it is best to avoid jeans, sneakers, and T-shirts or sweatshirts with logos on them. Female cello players should also avoid shorter or form-fitting skirts, as they don't allow for correct cello posture.
