The Jenison Orchestra Parents Association (JOPA)
The 2022-2024 JOPA Executive Board
Victoria Hernandez, JOPA President
Amy Westphal, JOPA Secretary
Becky Hilbelink, JOPA Treasurer
Kristin Haverkamp, Fundraising Chair
The Jenison Orchestras are enthusiastically supported by the Jenison Orchestra Parents' Association (JOPA). This "booster" group provides scholarships, parent support, uniform maintenance and other extras to our orchestras. They are funded by two or three fund-raisers during the year. The Jenison Orchestra "Smart Card" is our community discount card, good at many area businesses. The card is now sold just before Christmas and is an annual success. JOPA also sponsors a fall coffee sale and a spring cookie-dough sale.
A large portion of the profits from the JOPA fund-raisers are designated as credits for orchestra students to use. Students can use their credits to fund music-related materials throughout the year. Strings, shoulder rests, rosin, music, medals and fees are just some of the things students can use their credits for. All credits in students' accounts must be used on music materials by graduation. The accounts do carry over from year to year.
JOPA holds meetings four times per year at the Jenison Junior High Media Center. Please plan to attend as many meetings as you can as we discover new ways to show off our students' hard work. The dates for this year's JOPA meetings are as follows:
