Jenison Orchestra Fundraisers
Fall - Entertainment Book
Every fall, the Jenison Orchestras and Choirs sponsor an Entertainment Book sale. These coupon books offer thousands of impressive coupons to Grand Rapids area businesses, and only take three or four uses to pay for themselves. When someone purchases a book, they are also given access to the Entertainment Book App which contains all of the local coupons, as well as all of the national coupons. Books for other areas in the U.S. can be purchased through your child as well.
Details for the 2020-2021 sale:
- Sale starts: Sep 30 and Oct 1 (every student was given one book in class to take home)
- Sale ends: Oct 14 (any unsold books should be returned by this date)
- Book (with app) price: $30 (any checks should be made out to JOPA)
- For every book sold, $8 will go into your child’s orchestra account
- For every 5 books sold, your family will get a free book to sell or keep!
SCRIP - Gift cards for yourself!
Jenison’s Fine Arts department runs a SCRIP program, where music families can earn free money by purchasing gift cards for themselves to thousands of businesses/stores/restaurants. Families purchase cards to places they already spend money at like Meijer, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Speedway, etc. When you purchase a gift card, you receive full credit for that card, PLUS the business donates a certain percent of that amount back to your child’s music account.

SCRIP is sold and picked up in the Jenison High School pool lobby each Monday evening from 6:00-7:30pm. You can also sign up and ask questions at this table.
Questions can also be emailed to: email@example.com
Van Andel Concessions
The orchestra boosters manage the Van Andel Arena Concessions volunteer program, allowing music families to earn money for their child’s music account. Volunteers who are 18 years of age or older can sign up to work a shift during a concert or game, and earn a “credit” for their child. A shift is usually about 4-5 hours, and a credit is usually in the $50-$70 range (but depends on the event). If a volunteer wants to get trained to be a cook or crew leader, they can earn 1.5 credits per shift as well.
Questions and info can be obtained by emailing Tabi at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Orchestra Account Credits:
Orchestra account credits can be used to help with any orchestra related expenses from now until graduation. You can check the balance of your child’s account credits by logging into your child’s CHARMS account.
